Before I used Microsoft 365 software, my high school was only allowing students to use Google Docs and Google Sheets, which I don't find them to be bad pieces of software, however I believed at the time I felt a lot more limited to what I was actually allowed to make. When I joined my college, I was given a Microsoft 365 key that allowed me to use Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point. Indiana University Northwest also gave students five terabytes worth of storage so I would never run out of storage. After getting enrolled at my campus, I exclusively used Microsoft Office products due to how much freedom I had compared to using Google suite for ten years.
When it comes to planning events and calculating expenses, Microsoft Excel has me covered. I have thoroughly enjoyed having Microsoft Excel because it allows me to plan how much money I can save and how much money I'm spending on certain items. Microsoft Excel has also been very helpful for creating schedules for trying to hangout with friends. It is very easy to automate tasks using Formulas and I'm starting to learn how to use functions for more analysis.
I primarily use Microsoft word for writing documents because it is very reliable, easy to use, and perfect for working on my homework. This software helps me stay organized with built-in tools such as spell check, templates, and a lot of formatting options that make my work look significantly more professional compared to when I used Google Docs
Access has been pretty important these past few months because I've been using to track my family's inventory and to keep our family records. My family buys a lot of groceries and my parents have asked me to make a simple database to track the amount of certain products we have. Learning Microsoft Access has allowed me to understand the basics skills but required skills of becoming a Database Administrator.
I have been using Microsoft PowerPoint nearly everyday since I've started going to college. I use it to present my presentations and to work on assignments, and I have a lot more freedom using this instead of using Google Slides. PowerPoint has been very important when explaining Information Technology concepts to other people, as well as explaining other topics in class. I enjoy the fact that it lets me combine text, images, and animations to keep things very engaging for my audience. It is a great tool for sharing my work and ideas with other people.
